THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING

There are some things, that are happening:

- Femme Uke has recorded a new "album" with me...new songs and the hits

- Skinny Whiksers album is, like, done (or something)?

- I now live in Bellingham, work at Bayside Studios (soon to be "Champion St. Sound"). I probably want to record you here. Though, I might move to Anacortes and commute here for sessions...it's complicated, OKAY?

- The debut Caulfield And His Magical Violin LP, "Before You Die," which I produced, recorded (with help from the good guy Nicholas Wilbur), and even oversaw the mastering (Paul Turpin, Clickpop Records/Bayside Studio) of, is nearly completed. This is exciting, and I'm proud of it...so...when it's out listen to it!

There will certainly be a lot more things going in 2011 than 2010, so that's exciting. New things!

Luv,

Trevor

CHESTNUT COLLECTION - "Go Forth EP"

So, we made a new record! A new EP from Chestnut Collection, also known as, Cora Anne Glass. Done in an evening at "The Hoot House" in Bellingham, WA, all straight to my cute new/old Tascam porta-studio cassette multi-track recorder (with the help from some old german electronicz...). You might hear me singing and strumming in the background as well.

Download it for free, or pick it up at a show on either cassette (thanks MOST GROSS) or CD!

Also, we went on tour...check out the pictures:

everything is different, everything is the same

This blog gets more and more personal as it becomes obvious that sometimes (or always), I (Trevor), am the only one who writes in it! WELL that's how it goes, and things certainly are, going.

First, a big thank-ya to everyone who put music on or listened to the first Avocado Sampler. With full downloads and physical releases, there are almost 400 copies out in the wilderness! Amazing. You can still download it for free here:

http://avocadofamilyrecords.bandcamp.com/

Also, speaking of which, check that page soon for some Nixon Tooth (Moh Grout), HEKA (Nic Brodine), and Guy Law (Dan Onufer) releases.

So, I no longer work at Bear Creek Studio, which some of you may know by now. I had a great time recording lots of stuff there, meeting great artists, and learning a LOT. Yet, there were some differences between that place and I, so it was time to move on. Y'all should check out the last thing I did there, an AWESOME e.p. for the wonderful APOLLO GHOSTS:
www.myspace.com/adrianteacher
And soon, I'll be moving to the great town of Anacortes. That is, as soon as the new Skinny Whiskers album is done. Hopefully then I'll move on to a new recording space with some super cool people, or just make lots of music and live in an amazing town. Whatever happens, music will be made and island life will HAPPEN.

Gots to go jump in the lake, thanks for reading.

HULLO!

The new Avocado Sampler has been born and will soon be available for FREE download. We gave out about 60 copies to youngsters, venues, organizations, music lovers, alike at the Vera Project last Friday for the inoculation of this new fine disc. Unfortunately, our internet connection is being SLOW and the full download via bandcamp will not be available until tomorrow. Our apologies to those who may have gotten the disc at the Vera and were looking for the new download!

More tomorrow!

a small update

so, lately i've been in limbo between a few different things..or well starting them i guess. there are a few potential things to come in the near future, including:

-femme uke album
-new cumulus recordings
-skinny whiskers album
-pan pan/skinny whiskers split 7" (already in progress)
-bluebird/drew's stuff (probably released on bonerkill records?)

nic and i completed the first real debut of his ambient/drone/found sound stuff a couple weekends ago at bear creek. hopefully we'll have that disc out in circulation soon. i'm not even sure what he's going to be calling the project yet (the myspace says duckfart...i vote for a new name).

oh, and congrats to sarah jerns & the pan pan crew for putting on an awesome show opening for the books last night!! that was an amazing from start to finish.

LUV,

trevor

p.s. skinny whiskers is playing our first seattle show next monday at new crompton with some siq bands.

Long Live The Family

Well, things have been changing quite a bit for me. I'm done with classes FOREVER (maybe, hopefully?), and I'll be "officially" graduating in the fall. I got an internship at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, WA and i've been working on a new session as an assistant engineer for the past two weeks. Pretty damn exciting for me, I didn't expect to be given work to do there so quickly! Jeez. Bear Creek is absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful and awesome. The perfect atmosphere, people, and all the fucking gear I could ever want in one place. We're working on Ed Harcourt's new album (from England), and it's like...I don't know...inspiring. It's really its own thing, but kind of beach boysy with an extra touch of soul and folkyness.

I'll be living between my parents home in Issaquah and the cabin in the back of the studio. The parents is nice, and most of my stuff is set up to do some recording stuff on my own time still. Hopefully an About Sprout/new project name album or release for the summer. I want everyone to know that I've still got so much love for the Bellinghammers and all the people I've met, played, and recorded music with over the past couple years. BC is a high rolling place($$$$$!), but I hope to get at least one b-ham artist in there by the end of the year. Check out the website if you have no idea what this place is about:

http://www.bearcreekstudio.com

I miss Bellingham, my friends, playing in Addition, playing with Danimal, the kasa sutra, the thunderdome, avalinos (i went to a bikini coffee with Ed yesterday, doesn't fucking compare), wweams, my friends AGAIN, and just everything. Yet, this is such a huge thing for me, and I'm having the time of my life.

Nothing has changed, I still love the fam's good times and music making. I'll continue to push forward with Avocado and we'll make it more and more grand as we all continue to do amazing things with our lives.

Love,

Trevor

PAN PAN TONIGHT @ The Underground Coffee House

Photobucket

I know the KUGS thing is going on, but if you go to that you'll be missing your opportunity to see Sarah Jerns throw down her first all-ages set with a full band...and who knows when that will happen again?

Also, it's FREE. I know the recession is hitting you hard, and you don't want to shell out the cash for another show...not to mention this is going to be GOOD. I haven't been this excited for a local act in a long time.

The Magician is also playing, jumping the Canadian border for an awesome opening act. I love what i've heard, and I can't wait to see what's in store.

Hey and also, if you want to continue the good times, check out the CROSSFOX CD release at the rogue! Featuring The Love Lights and another band I can't remember...i'm too young for it but you should still go.

love, trevor

p.s. I will be recording this show, yeah i know it's a lot of work, yeah i'm that dedicated to pan pan. not to pressure you or anything, but you should just go.

p.s.s. you may be asking now.....hey trev, where is that new years show disc? it's coming, i promise. we just finished the Addition album and it's been a ton of work, so hold tight!

lovey dovey update yo!

First, thank you to everyone who came out to the Addition shows at the Western Gallery and WHaAM last week, the band had a ton of fun! The Addition album is sosososo close to being done(I should know, i've been working like a dog for weeks!!). After this week, the album will be sent out for mastering, and then hopefully soon we'll get it back and send it out for packaging. Think maybe mid-march for a release date? We'll have a better idea once those masters are back in our hands. Thanks to everyone who's been so supportive thus far, you know who you are!

Make sure to check out PAN PAN next week at the Underground Coffeehouse on Wednesday, hopefully we will get working on Sarah's album sometime in the near future... Also, read her write-up in What's Up?, February edition. Oh, and who's going to Calvin Johnson tomorrow...uhhh...all of you I hope?

There's also an AWESOME show this weekend at Friendship City. Cumulus/About Sprout love set, The Femme Uke, and Addition. ON VALENTINES DAY! Maybe we should call it the Avocado Love Fest? However, this is a very private show, as it is for Jenn Hartman's birthday. If you haven't been invited, then well, maybe you should have gotten to know Jenn? Seriously, invite only kiddos!
